
Reece is the child of Tom Day and Sarah Jones and has three siblings: Rayna, Eleanore, and Corinne. Throughout high school, Reece has been active in Speech, Choir, Esports, Play, Student Council, Class Officer, and Yearbook, contributing both in and out of the classroom while helping make SHS a more connected and spirited community.
When asked what advice they would give to incoming freshmen, Reece encouraged students to think for themselves, stay true to their values, and not be afraid to respectfully stand up for what they believe in.
After graduation, Reece’s future plans are currently undecided, but his involvement and leadership throughout high school have prepared them well for the opportunities ahead.

Throughout his time at SHS, Gavyn Jellison has stayed involved in both athletics and school organizations, making the most of his high school experience through teamwork, leadership, and school spirit.
Gavyn is the son of Kyle Jellison and Hannah Evans and has three siblings: Izzy, Trent, and Deakon Jellison. During his years at SHS, he has participated in FFA, Yearbook, Basketball, Track, and Football, balancing academics with extracurricular involvement while building friendships and lasting memories along the way.
When asked what advice he would give to incoming freshmen, Gavyn encouraged students to stay focused, work hard, and respect those around them. He emphasized the importance of learning from upperclassmen and making the most of every opportunity during high school.
Now, Gavyn is preparing for the next chapter after officially signing with Mount Mercy University to continue his basketball career at the collegiate level. While his long-term future plans are still taking shape, the experiences he has gained through sports, activities, and leadership opportunities have prepared him well for what lies ahead.

Throughout her high school years, Jessa Renee Willey has stayed involved in school activities while working toward her future goals and building valuable experiences along the way.
Jessa is the daughter of Rachel Willey. During high school, she participated in Choir for three years and also served as a Football Manager for one year, supporting her classmates and school programs through her involvement.
When asked what advice she would give to underclassmen, Jessa encouraged students to be respectful to those who are trying to help them. She emphasized the importance of listening, maintaining a positive attitude, and appreciating the guidance offered by teachers, coaches, and mentors throughout high school.
After graduation, Jessa Renee Willey plans to pursue her CNA certification. She hopes to begin building a career in the healthcare field, where she can help care for others and continue developing her skills and experience.

Laudia is the daughter of Samantha and Ryan Van Donsler and has two siblings, Jett and Finnick Van Donsler. During her years at SHS, she has participated in Volleyball, Football Cheer, Basketball Cheer, eSports, Trap Shooting, Basketball, Academic Bowl, Speech, School Play and Musical, Softball, Student Council, Class Officer, Band, Choir, Honor Band, Honor Choir, NHS, TAG, and Yearbook. Her involvement across so many activities reflects her passion for trying new things and staying connected to her school community.
When asked what advice she would give to incoming freshmen, Laudia encouraged students to follow their own dreams and interests rather than trying to meet someone else’s expectations. She also added that getting involved in activities can make high school much more memorable, joking that students could “have a novel” of experiences just like she does.
After graduation, Laudia Carter plans to take an online class for piercings and tattoos over the summer before enrolling at the Iowa School of Beauty. Her long-term goal is to open a multi-service body art studio in either Centerville or Corydon, where she hopes to combine creativity, artistry, and entrepreneurship into a successful future career.

Reed is the son of Ross Vanderheyden and has three siblings: Chance, Aria, and Lainey. While he was not involved in school activities during high school, he has spent time looking ahead toward his future goals and opportunities beyond the classroom.
When asked what advice he would give to incoming freshmen, Reed kept it simple, choosing instead to let his own experiences speak for themselves as he prepares for the next stage of life.
After graduation, Reed Vanderheyden plans to learn how to drive a semi truck and become involved in the family trucking business. He looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in the industry and continuing the family tradition while building a successful future career.

Seymour High School senior Gavyn Jellison officially signed today to continue his academic and athletic career at Mount Mercy University, where he will play collegiate basketball for the Mustangs.
Jellison’s signing marks the next chapter in a successful high school career built on hard work, dedication, and leadership on and off the court. Throughout his time at Seymour, Gavyn has been a key contributor to the Warriors basketball program, earning the respect of teammates, coaches, and fans through his determination and competitive spirit.
Family, friends, coaches, and classmates gathered to celebrate the accomplishment as Gavyn made his commitment official. The signing reflects countless hours spent improving his game and represents a major milestone for both Jellison and the Seymour basketball community.
At Mount Mercy University, Gavyn will have the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level while continuing his education and representing Seymour with pride. His work ethic and passion for the game are expected to make a strong impact as he transitions to the next level of basketball.
The Seymour community congratulates Gavyn on this outstanding achievement and wishes him continued success both in the classroom and on the court as a member of the Mustangs basketball program.


Chase is the son of Drew and Courtney Power and has one sibling, his sister Olivia. Throughout high school, he has been involved in football, basketball, baseball, golf, and FFA, balancing athletics and extracurricular activities while building friendships and experiences that will stay with him long after graduation.
After graduation, Chase’s future plans are still undecided, but the experiences and lessons he has gained through sports and school involvement will no doubt help guide him in whatever path he chooses next.

The daughter of Logan and Heather Swartz, Taycee is part of a big family that includes her four siblings—Drayden, Laythum, Kayley, and Max.
During her years at SHS, Taycee has been involved in FFA, basketball, and track. Through these activities, she built teamwork skills, developed discipline, and stayed engaged in both school and extracurricular life.
Taycee’s advice to incoming freshmen is simple but important: listen to your teachers.
After graduation, Taycee plans to attend Simpson College in the fall, where she will study human services.

The son of Nathan and Tasha Spurgeon, Callon shares a close bond with his two siblings, Cason and Thea.
During his time at SHS, Callon has been actively involved in football, basketball, and baseball, along with National Honor Society. His participation in multiple sports highlights his dedication, teamwork, and commitment to staying involved in school activities.
When it comes to advice for incoming freshmen, Callon keeps it simple: don’t take it too seriously.
After graduation, Callon plans to enter the workforce.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused individual to join our team as a School Activity Driver. This position is responsible for transporting students to and from extracurricular activities, events, and field trips.
Position Details:
• Part-time, flexible hours (primarily evenings and occasional weekends)
• Schedule varies based on activity needs
• Opportunities for additional hours may be available
Responsibilities:
• Safely transport students to and from school activities
• Follow all traffic laws and district transportation policies
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle
• Ensure student safety and appropriate behavior while in transit
• Communicate effectively with school staff and supervisors
Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license (CDL not required)
• Clean driving record
• Must pass background check and any required screenings
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
Preferred (but not required):
• Experience driving vans, buses, or larger vehicles
• Experience working with students

The daughter of Missy and Don Liggett, Reagen shares a strong connection with her two siblings, Kipton and Jasper.
During her years at SHS, Reagen has stayed highly active in a wide range of activities, including FFA, volleyball, track, basketball, softball, football cheerleading, National Honor Society, and choir.
Looking back, Reagen encourages incoming freshmen to get involved and step outside of their comfort zones. She emphasizes the importance of making the most of the experience, noting just how quickly high school goes by.
After graduation, Reagen plans to pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Veterinary Technology.
